The Application Process
There are a number of steps in the application process for the Children’s Ministry Support Package.
Please contact the GFS Liaison Officer to receive the Children’s Ministry Support Package Information Booklet for all these details.
A summary is listed below.
Outline of the Application Process
Parishes seeking assistance should contact the GFS Liaison Officer, by phone on 0427 673 256, or by email on gfsliaison@gmail.com to arrange a preliminary meeting. All the details of the process will be discussed at this meeting.
Complete the application form for the Children’s Ministry Support Package.
In submitting the documents, remember to include all the relevant documents that have been requested.
Submit all relevant documents to the GFS Liaison Officer. This application will then be considered by GFS Melbourne Inc. and the Parish will be notified of the decision as soon as practicable.
In the event of a successful application, the Parish will need to engage a suitable person for the Children’s Ministry Worker role.
The Parish will be responsible for negotiating the conditions of the engagement (ie. hours, superannuation, leave entitlements, work cover, etc.) fulfilling the requirements of the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne, including Working With Children’s Check, Police Check and all Safe Ministry clearances.
The Vicar and Churchwardens are to sign the Memorandum Of Understanding (GFS Liaison Officer for more information and this document will be included in the Children’s Ministry Support Package folder).
Applications for the Children’s Ministry Support Package are considered annually. Notification of Date of Applications will be advertised in The Melbourne Anglican (TMA). Applications are now open for the coming year.
